Good Behavior

Interview with Bill and Rochelle

JM: Did you get off early based on good behavior?
Bill: You can receive up to 15% off your sentence. However, in some circumstances you are not truly released on good behavior, but in some cases you are released on probation for the remainder of your sentence (This is also known as Conditional Release Supervision)
Rochelle: Yes

JM: What is the most time off you can receive for good behavior?
Bill: All inmates must serve a minimum of 85% of sentence.
Rochelle: 20 days each month out of 30 or 31

JM: What types of actions do you need to avoid in order to get time off? Did you ever witness somebody losing time off for good behavior?
Bill: Most of the time it's simply just fighting. In county, officers don't have much physical contact with inmates in any way (inmates are simply in large cages) so there really isn't anything that you can do that will upset an officer.
Rochelle: Chores and follow the rules.
